The Allotment Society is a student-run growing project.

FLORa

The aims of our society are:

to provide students and the campus community with an opportunity to be involved in the growing of their own food;

to explore and develop a practical understanding of horticultural techniques;

to organise opportunities to debate and discuss the problems with contemporary food systems and the possible benefits of small-scale, organic, low-impact agriculture;

to foster an atmosphere of inclusivity,  community and diversity, welcoming people from all backgrounds;

to promote the mental and physical health benefits of being outdoors, getting physical, being part of bigger change, meeting and connecting with people;

to create connections with similar projects and organisations as a way of engaging with a larger community, where ideas, techniques and experiences can be shared.
